SAFE ONLINE CONNECTION
Trojan Dry-Out Systems are almost fully automated and require minimum operator involvement. Connection to transformers of all voltages can be completed quickly and safely while online. When the operator arrives at the transformer it is simply a case of locating the Trojan near to the transformer, connect the inlet oil hose to the valve at the bottom of the main tank, the oil return hose to the conservator or top of the main tank, and providing a power connection. Connection takes less than 1 hour.
The operator then selects “Commissioning” on the PLC screen, which provides a quick check list PLC screen to ensure correct connection. Once completed the operator starts the automated commissioning process, which checks the air tightness of all connections by creating a vacuum on the pipe work and hoses. Any air leaks will trigger the Trojan to shutdown and advise the operator to re-check all connections for tightness.
If there are no air leaks, the PLC screen advises the operator to open the valves on the transformer that the oil hoses are connected to, in the correct order. Oil is drawn down both of the hoses into the Trojan removing all air bubbles. When sufficient oil is drawn, the Trojan completes a set of closed circuit cycles to remove any remaining air from the system. The Trojan is now ready for use, select the Treatment Options on the PLC screen and enter the hours required for each function, and you are underway.
Steel braided hoses with 12,000 pound burst pressure carry the oil, plus an outer hose in case of oil leaks. The outer hoses send the oil up into the Trojan sump which has level switches to stop the Trojan and close all valves. A ground cover spill kit can be supplied for total protection.
